Description

In this two-day course, we’ll combine screen printing ink with embroidery thread and wool in a colorful graphic experiment.

On Saturday, you’ll screen print letters and/or shapes with Esther from Zeefdrukles. You’ll experiment with form, color, layers, and composition. We’ll work with stencil printing (coarser shapes, works quickly) and with an exposed screen (finer shapes, takes a bit more time and preparation). No screen printing experience is necessary; we’ll help you get started. By the end of the day, you’ll have a set of different surfaces.

On Sunday, you’ll work with one or more surfaces with Gerda from Studio Koekoek. She’ll show you a wide variety of techniques, such as cross stitch, and free hand embroidery stitches. You will learn how to secure your threads and how to embroider on paper and fabrics. We will have 500 colors embroidery thread avaialble. The possibilities are endless!

The number of pieces you create depends on the complexity of the embroidery technique you choose. But you can always purchase additional materials to finish your work at home.

You’ll leave with new skills, and fresh inspiration.
